Have you had a plumbing emergency? Are you concerned about one? You are not alone. PlumbingGuardian was created for people who are concerned about the possibility of water damage from faulty or damaged plumbing. The PlumbingGuardian will limit your exposure to damage from leaky pipes, broken appliances, and fixtures accidentally left running.
Water Management Protects Your Property
The PlumbingGuardian leak detection and automatic water shut off system will help preserve your investment in your home by limiting damage caused by plumbing failures and burst pipes. This "liquid circuit breaker" offers multiple leak detection options. Once a leak is detected, multiple actions can be taken, turning off the water inlet to your home and remote notification via email. Additionally, if you have a well, the PlumbingGuardian can turn off your well pump. The PlumbingGuardian offers peace of mind concerning your home; we worry about your plumbing, so you don't have to!
Why Settle for Just One Protection Vector?
PlumbingGuardian gives whole house protection with support for both flow pattern detection and moisture detectors. Flow control provides a very broad based level of protection. Anywhere in your home's plumbing there is a leak the water flow can be detected by PlumbingGuardian. Unfortunately, this type of system requires the water already be flowing in an abnormally high amount to detect. This means that the damage will be limited, as the system will prevent a very large amount of water from escaping, but, depending on the settings, several gallons of water could be leaked before the system takes action. PlumbingGuardian, however, provides the capability of deploying water sensors as well. These are small devices that can detect moisture. They are typically placed in normally dry, but high risk areas, such as under a dishwasher or near a washing machine, and wired back to the main unit. As soon as the water sensors get wet, the PlumbingGuardian shuts off the water. This dramatically reduces the time to close off your home's water supply, limiting any damage even further.
Clean Water Floods Are a Common Cause of Home Damage
According to IBHS plumbing failure is, by far, the leading cause of residential water damage. To apply some perspective as to the costs associated, plumbing failure not related to freezing caused an average loss of $4,296 per incident between 1998 and 2005 in the IBHS study. State Farm Insurance provides some helpful tips and statistics for prevention of plumbing related water damage and "clean water" floods. Another source, IBHS has some additional tips on avoiding water damage caused by faulty plumbing.
